Being in Grand Falls, we didn't have a ton of options. But that didn't matter to the team! We weren't sure what we really needed for our home but the team made the process super easy with the suggestions that made most sense and weren't the most expensive (a refreshing change from the norm). The pre-install inspection and the install all happened when the appointments were booked and the job was done in a very professional manner and seamlessly integrated into our home. Highly recommend the company for your needs!

A mini-split heat pump is a ductless heating and air conditioning system. It works by splitting (hence the name) the two main components – an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit. A conduit through the wall links the two units. Thanks to the design, mini-split heat pumps are small in size and don’t require ductwork to be run throughout your home. Check out our video to learn more about heat pumps and the benefits for your home.
A mini-split heat pump works kind of like a refrigerator. In the winter, refrigerant in the heat pump coil captures available heat from the outdoor air (yes - even when it’s cold outside!) and releases it into your home where it’s needed. In summer, it acts as an air conditioner, capturing the hot air from inside your home and transferring it outside, leaving you with cool and comfortable fresh air. It even does all of this more efficiently than traditional heating and cooling systems.
Single-zone mini-split heat pumps have one indoor air distribution unit, generally called a “head”, that attaches to a single outdoor unit which looks similar to a standard air conditioner. Multi-zone mini-split heat pumps have multiple indoor units or heads that attach to a single outdoor unit. Choosing between the two depends on your home. Single-zone units are designed for keeping a small space or a specific room at a single temperature. Multi-zone units can serve more than one area independently and at different temperatures, making them flexible whole-home solutions.
Mini-split heat pumps are much easier to install than other types of HVAC systems since there is no ductwork needed. A simple conduit (usually a 2- to 3-inch hole in the wall) is all that’s needed to connect the interior and exterior units. Watch our video to learn more about what’s involved in installing a heat pump. With 1Click Heating & Cooling, we handle the installation for you at no additional cost – making it even easier!
The cost of a mini-split heat pump system will depend on the setup for your home. For a single-zone unit prices range between $4,500 - $8,000, including installation. This increases to between $8,000 - $15,000 for multi-zone units. 1Click Heating & Cooling offers financing options to help save you money up front.
In Canada, heat pumps are given a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) rating, governed by the federal Energy Efficiency Regulations. This measures how efficiently the system uses energy. The higher the SEER rating, the more efficient it is. You can use this rating as a way to help conserve energy, lower your energy bill, and positively impact the environment when choosing a heat pump for your home.
