An electric heat pump works by transferring heat from one location to another using refrigerant and a compressor. In heating mode, it extracts heat from the outdoor air (even in cold temperatures) and transfers it indoors. In cooling mode, it reverses this process to remove heat from inside and release it outdoors. Watch our video on how a heat pump works to learn more.
