Are you a homeowner heating your home with oil? The NEW Oil to Electric Incentive Program offers up to $22,000 to help you transition to clean, electricity-based heating. With over 90% of Newfoundland and Labrador’s electricity coming from renewable sources, your switch supports a greener future for our province.
- You must be the homeowner with an active electricity account.
- Homes must be on a permanent foundation, intended as a primary residence, used year-round, and connected to the island or Labrador’s interconnected electricity grid.
- Heat Pumps: Mini-splits, multi-splits, and central heat pumps listed on Natural Resources Canada’s database.
- Electric Furnaces and Boilers: For primary space heating.
- Quote from a participating installer with itemized costs.
- Oil receipts showing at least 500 liters of oil usage in the last three years.
- Photo of the oil tank HOST tag number.
- Electricity utility account number.
- For couples, additional personal information is required.
- Installations must be performed by a participating installer.
- A backup heating source is necessary; consult your insurance provider.
