    • Connected to the island or Labrador's main electricity grid

Income-based eligibility requirements for takeCHARGE Oil To Electric Incentive:

The takeCHARGE Oil to Electric program offers two qualification streams: an income-qualified stream, and a general stream.

Review the income thresholds below to see if your household meets the income eligibility criteria for the income-qualified stream. It’s based on the number of people in your home and the combined adjusted net income of you and your spouse or partner.

    • 1 person: $37,375 or less
    • 2 persons: $73,600 or less
    • 3 persons: $104,650 or less
    • 4 persons: $131,100 or less
    • 5 persons: $136,850 or less
    • 6 persons or more: $136,850 or less

Note that the number of people in the home includes parents and any children they claim on their tax return who are eligible for the Canada Child Tax Benefit, as verified by the CRA.

If your net annual household income falls at or below the threshold indicated above, you may qualify for a maximum rebate of $22,000 for a heat pump.

Even if your net annual household income exceeds the above threshold, you may still qualify for the general stream, which provides a rebate of up to $9,000 for a new heat pump.

Required documents for takeCHARGE Oil To Electric Incentive:

    • Your most recent Notice of Assessment 
    • Your electricity account number
    • If your home is heated by oil: 
      • Provide a statement or receipts from your oil company showing at least 500 litres of oil used over a 12-month period (within the past two years of your application date)
    • If your home is heated by propane:
      • Provide a statement or receipts from your propane company showing at least 1,000 litres of propane used over a 12-month period ((within the past two years of your application date)
    • A photo of your oil tank's HOST tag number
    • A copy of the project quote from the participating installer
