The Home Renovation Savings Program (HRSP) offers up to $3,000 in heat pump rebates for Ontarians who heat their homes with natural gas, and up to $12,000 for those who heat with oil, propane, wood, or electricity. This program helps eligible homeowners switch to energy-efficient heating with ground source or cold climate air source heat pumps. You'll save money on energy bills, enjoy a more comfortable home, and help protect the environment. Heat pump rebates & grants in Ontario – about Home Renovation Savings Program The Home Renovation Savings Program is funded by the Government of Ontario and jointly delivered by Enbridge Gas and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). It’s designed to help homeowners lower heating costs, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and create a more efficient, comfortable home with electric heat pumps. The incentive amount is determined based on factors such as the type of heat pump installed and your existing heating system. Yes, as long as you own each property and meet the eligibility requirements for each one. 4. Can tenants apply for the Home Renovation Savings Program? No, only homeowners are eligible. 5. Why are some electricity customers not eligible for the Home Renovation Savings Program? To qualify, you must either heat your home with natural gas and be an Enbridge Gas customer, or heat with electricity and be connected to Ontario’s electricity grid. Customers of Cornwall Electric are connected to the Hydro-Québec grid, so they’re only eligible for this program if they also use Enbridge Gas. If you're not using electric heating or not an Enbridge customer, you may still qualify for rebates so long as your primary heat source runs on propane, oil, or wood. 6. Do I need to remove my oil tank to qualify for the Home Renovation Savings Program? No, the Home Renovation Savings Program program does not require oil tank removal.
